Hotel Madame Mere enjoys a prime location near Saint Florent's village center, harbor and citadel, making it easy for guests to explore the area on foot. Proximity to local restaurants, shops and beaches is a notable advantage and the hotel's peaceful setting provides a quiet retreat after a day out. The swimming pool is another well-loved feature, known for its cleanliness and refreshing ambiance. Parking facilities are praised for their convenience and security, adding to the overall accessibility of the hotel.
The staff at Hotel Madame Mere are frequently commended for their friendliness and helpfulness, enhancing the overall experience for many visitors. Guests appreciate the warm reception and attentive service, making the hotel a welcoming place to stay.
However, reviews reveal mixed feelings about the breakfast buffet. While some guests find it generous and delicious with diverse offerings, others feel it is overpriced and lacking in fresh options. The absence of an on-site bar or restaurant service, combined with long wait times for dinner, has also been noted.
Guest rooms receive varied feedback. Some guests highlight the cleanliness and comfort of the bedding, as well as scenic views from certain rooms. However, many reviews point out that the rooms are outdated, cramped and in need of refurbishment. Issues such as leaky showers, poor sound insulation and cleanliness problems have been reported.
Cleanliness overall is inconsistent with some guests satisfied with their clean rooms and common areas, while others report issues like dirty carpets and stained bedsheets. The Wi-Fi service has also been a common point of dissatisfaction with many guests experiencing poor connectivity, especially in the rooms.
Despite these drawbacks, the positive aspects such as the hotel's ideal location, welcoming staff, pleasant pool and excellent parking facilities contribute to a generally positive impression for those seeking a convenient base in Saint Florent.
