The Farmington Inn and Suites offers a unique New England experience for travelers looking for a classic beauty with a historic feeling. The hotel is clean and extremely comfortable with the exception of a few dated aspects like the mattresses and bathroom tubs being slippery. The breakfast is good, but could use a little improvement, possibly due to COVID regulations. The front desk staff could be more hospitable, but overall the value and functionality of the hotel are good. The location is ideal for those visiting Hartford, CT, but don't expect modern amenities or a lively atmosphere as the hotel is a bit tired and needs some updates and repairs. Despite these minor issues, guests have thoroughly enjoyed their stay and would likely return for another delightful and enchanting experience at The Farmington Inn and Suites.

The Capitol Hotel is often praised for its excellent value, being notably cheaper than many other options in the area. Guests appreciate the included breakfast and commend the excellent service provided by the staff. However, there are mixed opinions about the facilities and accommodations. Some guests experienced noise issues, particularly in rooms near the elevator and found the bathroom conditions and pillow quality to be subpar. Parking arrangements have also been a point of contention with guests noting the necessity to pay for it separately. Despite some drawbacks, the hotel provides a cost-effective option for travelers who prioritize budget over luxury.

Guest experiences with the rooms are mixed. Positive feedback highlights clean rooms on check-in, comfortable beds and functional basic amenities such as heating, air conditioning and hot showers. Guests appreciate the proximity to highways and nearby conveniences. However, many reviews point out issues with room cleanliness, odors and maintenance, such as smoke smells in non-smoking rooms, physical damages and inadequate amenities. Despite meeting some expectations for a budget stay, room maintenance and cleanliness issues are a consistent concern.
Cleanliness reviews similarly present a mixed picture. Some guests find the rooms and bed sheets clean and cleaners' efforts are noted positively. The property’s common areas and pathways also receive criticism for not being well-maintained.

The motel's wifi service is another area with room for improvement. While some guests find the internet useable, many report connectivity issues or a complete lack of service during their stays, which can be problematic for those relying on stable internet.
Opinions on the beds also vary. Some guests find the beds comfortable, but complaints about mattresses being too soft or too stiff, thin or flat pillows and issues like unpleasant odors and bed bugs are prevalent. Cleanliness and quality of the bedding require attention.
On a positive note, Motel 6-Wethersfield, CT - Hartford is highly praised for being pet-friendly. The convenience of direct outdoor access from rooms and the availability of amenities for pets make it a favorable choice for travelers with furry companions.
