VR Hamilton receives high praise for its excellent central location in the heart of Hamilton's bustling city center. This positioning offers guests remarkable convenience with easy access to numerous eateries, cafes, shops, bars and nightlife venues. Whether visiting for business or leisure, the proximity to key city spots, including riverside walks and nearby attractions, makes it a practical choice. Guests find the spacious rooms and accessibility to everything the city has to offer especially beneficial.
When it comes to dining, VR Hamilton stands out with its prime location amidst a variety of restaurants and nightspots. Popular nearby establishments, like the Portofino restaurant, provide excellent alternatives for breakfast and other meals, given the absence of in-hotel breakfast facilities. Though some guests felt inconvenienced by the lack of breakfast provisions, they appreciated the range of nearby dining options and the room amenities provided. An ideal spot for food enthusiasts, the hotel's surroundings boast a diverse culinary landscape.
Room quality is another strong point for VR Hamilton with guests frequently commenting on the remarkably spacious and clean accommodations. The high ceilings, ample windows, comfortable beds and clean bathrooms contribute to an overall positive experience, despite some aesthetic concerns regarding the dated decor and occasional maintenance issues. Many visitors appreciate the heritage aspects of the building and find the spaciousness and cleanliness offer good value for money.
Cleanliness throughout the hotel also earns commendations, ensuring a pleasant stay. The clean, comfortable and well-maintained rooms balance any minor issues with dated interiors and occasional cleanliness lapses. Moreover, the friendly and accommodating staff further enhance the experience. Reception staff, often noted for their helpfulness, make check-in and check-out processes smooth. Instances of staff not meeting expectations are relatively rare and overall, the supportive service provided by the team is significantly appreciated.
VR Hamilton's WiFi receives mixed reviews with several guests finding it reliable and fast, although the free service is limited to 0.5 GB. Some guests faced connectivity issues, indicating a need for improvement in internet service. Nevertheless, positive remarks about the availability of Sky Channels on TV, accompanied by good WiFi, contribute to an overall satisfactory experience in this aspect.
The parking facilities present challenges, including limited and tight parking spaces, added costs and difficulties with reservation systems. Despite the secure parking option, the inconvenience and extra fees associated with parking detract from the overall experience.
For families, the hotel's spacious rooms and central location make VR Hamilton a solid choice. Families find the large rooms accommodating and the kitchenette facilities handy. While some areas for improvement exist, such as modern updates and noise concerns, the hotel's suitability for family events and the friendly staff contribute to its appeal.
Nightlife enthusiasts particularly enjoy VR Hamilton’s vibrant setting, surrounded by numerous bars, restaurants, clubs and a nearby casino. The central location allows easy access to entertainment, although the lively atmosphere can lead to noise disruptions, especially on weekends. Light sleepers might find the nighttime noise challenging, but the convenience for nightlife makes it a significant draw.
In summary, VR Hamilton offers a well-rounded experience with its exceptional location, spacious and clean rooms, diverse dining options and friendly staff. While some areas, such as parking, WiFi and certain amenities, could benefit from improvement, the overall staying experience is positive, providing excellent value and convenience for visitors exploring Hamilton.

Mystery Creek Motel receives high marks across various aspects from its guests, painting a picture of a delightful stay overall. The location is lauded for being both peaceful and strategically positioned. Its proximity to the airport and the Mystery Creek Event Centre makes it a prime choice for event-goers and travelers seeking quick flight access, while the quiet, countryside surroundings offer a serene retreat. Despite its slightly remote setting from the main town, the motel provides easy access to Hamilton and Cambridge, allowing guests to enjoy both rural tranquillity and connectivity to urban amenities. The added recreational benefits of a nearby golf course and water jet further enhance its appeal.
The rooms at Mystery Creek Motel are another highlight. Guests praise the spacious, clean and well-maintained accommodations, particularly enjoying the comfort of the beds and the effective heating systems. While the decor is basic, it is tasteful, contributing to the overall comfort. However, a few rooms show signs of age and have small bathrooms and some guests experienced minor issues such as a musty smell or minimalistic furnishings. Despite these areas for improvement, most visitors find the rooms conducive to a relaxing stay.
Cleanliness is a standout feature at the motel with many visitors noting the high standards of room and bathroom upkeep. The rooms are described as clean, cozy and fresh towels are provided daily, contributing to the property's reputation as a reliable and comfortable option. Occasional lapses, such as the presence of ants or unemptied rubbish bins, are noted but seem to be exceptions rather than the norm.
The staff at Mystery Creek Motel significantly contribute to its positive reviews. Guests frequently commend the friendly, accommodating and professional team, often singling out the management for their exceptional kindness and helpfulness. The efficient check-in and check-out processes and the staff's willingness to go above and beyond, such as arranging quick trips to the airport, make for a welcoming atmosphere that enhances the overall guest experience.
Parking at Mystery Creek Motel is ample and convenient, accommodating larger vehicles and compensated for the slightly out-of-town location. Despite a minor concern regarding an open cattle-style grid, the parking facilities generally meet guest needs satisfactorily.
The beds receive consistent praise for their comfort with both the beds and pillows contributing to restful nights. Although a few guests found the mattresses either too soft or too hard for their personal preferences, the majority report a highly comfortable sleeping experience.
In summary, Mystery Creek Motel stands out for its excellent location, spacious and clean rooms, warm and professional staff and ample parking. Its serene setting, combined with convenient accessibility to key attractions and amenities, makes it a recommended stay for various types of travelers seeking both comfort and tranquillity.
