The Knife & Cleaver has received a majority of positive reviews, particularly for its charming and convenient location in a picturesque village setting. Guests frequently appreciate its proximity to local attractions and events, contributing to its tranquil atmosphere. The adjoining pub and restaurant are also well-received for their delightful food and lively ambiance, further enhanced by the friendly and helpful staff.
The breakfast offerings elicit mixed feedback; however, many guests commend the high-quality choices like smoked salmon and Eggs Benedict, along with attentive service. Some diners express dissatisfaction regarding the limited availability of cooked options and occasional delays.
Dinner experiences are generally positive, with many guests praising the excellent British fare and good value for money in a comfortable and characterful setting. Despite occurrences of slower service and unavailability of some menu items, the establishment is largely recommended for its flavorful dishes.
Room accommodations at The Knife & Cleaver offer a blend of comfort and character, with many guests enjoying the cozy and well-decorated spaces. The converted stables are especially appreciated, although there are some mentions of aging decor and occasional damp odors in certain rooms. Despite these minor issues, guests find the setting conducive to a relaxing getaway.
Cleanliness receives both praise and critique, as rooms are often described as clean and modern, but there are areas noted for needing deeper cleaning and updates, particularly in the bathrooms. Nevertheless, the staff's friendly and proactive approach frequently enhances the guest experience.
Wi-Fi services at the hotel present challenges, with inconsistent connectivity impacting some guests' stays. While the staff diligently addresses these issues, potential visitors who prioritize reliable internet access might consider this aspect.
The bedding experience is mixed, with some guests enjoying comfortable beds, while others report discomfort due to the mattress quality. Overall, the establishment continues to offer a warm and inviting atmosphere, underscored by its unique boutique charm. The Knife & Cleaver remains a preferred choice for travelers seeking a blend of coziness, friendly service, and a picturesque setting.
