Summary of reviews
Summarized by AI
Days Inn Michaelwood M5 stands out as a convenient and budget-friendly stopover, especially favored for its prime location just off the M5 motorway, offering easy access both north and southbound. Despite its proximity to the motorway, the hotel maintains a quiet, serene environment with lovely views of fields and farmlands, making it an ideal resting spot for travelers. Its strategic position near attractions like Bristol, Slimbridge and the Cotswolds, along with ample parking and nearby dining options, adds to its appeal.
The rooms are consistently praised for their spaciousness and cleanliness, equipped with essential amenities to ensure a comfortable stay. While some areas, such as bathrooms and furnishings, may appear dated and require minor updates, the overall experience is positive. Families and pet owners find the accommodations practical and comfortable, bolstered by the warm, inviting atmosphere created by the large rooms and comfortable beds. Cleanliness receives mixed reviews, but the hotel generally meets and often exceeds budget hotel expectations.
Guests highlight the friendly, helpful and professional staff, who ensure a welcoming and efficient check-in process and are quick to address any issues. Although the hotel does not provide on-site dining options for breakfast or dinner, nearby motorway services offer a range of food choices. This situation presents both a convenience and a drawback, as the nearby services are appreciated by some but considered limited and expensive by others.
Free WiFi is a notable benefit, though its reliability varies. The parking situation is highly praised with ample, secure and free spaces available, including facilities for electric vehicles. The hotel caters well to families, offering value for money and a convenient location for visiting local attractions or attending family events.
Days Inn Michaelwood M5 ensures a solid three-star experience, delivering good value, especially for those seeking economical yet comfortable lodging. It provides accessible facilities for guests with disabilities and is notably dog-friendly, making travel more convenient for everyone. Despite minor issues such as dated fixtures or occasional maintenance concerns, it successfully fulfills the needs of travelers looking for a quiet, comfortable and affordable place to stay.
