Avatel Bukit Mertajam is celebrated for its strategic location, offering convenience to travelers with its proximity to local landmarks such as the KTM Bukit Mertajam station and St Anne Church. This makes it an appealing option for those eager to explore the area. The ease of access to public transportation and nearby diverse culinary options, including a Michelin-awarded char koay teow restaurant, further enhance its appeal to guests seeking local flavor and cultural experiences. Despite its central location, the hotel maintains a sense of tranquility, complemented by clean facilities, free parking, and a seamless check-in and check-out process, making it ideal for short stays or quick rests.
The hotel rooms are noted for their comfort and exceptional cleanliness, with spaciousness being a significant highlight. Many rooms come equipped with inviting features like large bathtubs, offering great value for the price. Although some rooms lack windows, they do not compromise on coziness and warmth, ensuring a satisfying stay.
While the cleanliness of the rooms is often praised, certain communal areas face challenges, such as unpleasant smells and issues within the bathrooms. Dust and occasional pest sightings, along with concerns about the cleanliness of towels and linens, have been pointed out by some guests. Thus, while many aspects of cleanliness meet expectations, there is room for improvement to ensure a consistently pleasant experience.
The staff at Avatel Bukit Mertajam receive positive remarks for their friendliness and politeness, contributing to an efficient and easy check-in/out experience. While some guests have reported negative interactions and maintenance-related concerns, the courteous demeanor of the staff generally enhances the overall guest experience, making their interactions a positive aspect of their stay.

Summary of reviews
Summarized by AI
Located in a convenient area, '7 Hotel' offers rooms that vary in size and condition, with some guests finding them to be spacious and comfortable enough to relax in. The air conditioning has been positively highlighted by some visitors, which adds to the comfort of the stay. However, despite these positives, significant concerns arise regarding the cleanliness and maintenance of the accommodations. Many guests have noted that the rooms appear dusty and unmaintained, with issues such as dirt, insects, and hair on floors being common complaints. Bathrooms, in particular, have been described as small, smelly, and dirty, with broken fixtures further diminishing the experience. The overall perception of cleanliness is further impacted by uncomfortable bedding, unsatisfactory bed linens, and neglected furniture. While the hotel's location and the air conditioning in the rooms stand out as positive aspects, the overall room conditions and cleanliness are areas that require substantial improvement.
