The Best Western Reading Calcot Hotel offers a well-balanced experience, particularly for travelers who appreciate a strategic location and warm hospitality. Conveniently situated near the M4 motorway and close to Reading, this hotel is a great option for those on road trips or visiting family. The location provides a quiet escape from city bustle, offering ample parking and nearby dining options, including a popular Mexican street food restaurant. The friendly and accommodating staff consistently enhance the stay, contributing to a welcoming atmosphere and resolving issues efficiently, leaving a lasting positive impression.
The breakfast service is another high point, with many guests praising the variety and quality of the Full English breakfast. The staff in the dining area have been commended for their excellent service, ensuring a pleasant start to the day. However, there is room to improve the breakfast experience related to food temperature, catering to dietary needs, and logistical aspects.
Guests find the rooms clean and cozy, with comfortable beds that are often highlighted as a key feature. Despite some reports of outdated decor and maintenance issues like worn carpets and unpleasant odors, the overall comfort of the accommodations is appreciated. The hotel does receive suggestions for improvements in room upkeep and amenities to enhance guest satisfaction.
Cleanliness receives mixed feedback, with many areas well-maintained, although certain parts, like the bathrooms and carpeting, could benefit from more attention. Despite these challenges, the general ambience remains pleasant, complemented by the staff's commitment to exceptional service.
Overall, the Best Western Reading Calcot Hotel is a solid choice for travelers seeking convenience, comfort, and exceptional staff service, although attention to detail in room maintenance and breakfast offerings could further elevate the guest experience.
