Summary of reviews
Summarized by AI
Le Lichou is a hotel that stands out for its strategic location, friendly staff, cleanliness and dining options. Nestled conveniently close to the highway yet tucked away in a peaceful village, it offers easy access to travelers and proximity to essential amenities. Its charm is amplified by the quiet surroundings, despite the bustling roads nearby, making it a preferred stopover for those journeying to and from Spain.
Guests appreciate the cleanliness and upkeep of the rooms, which, although somewhat basic and spartan, are functional and comfortable. Features like air conditioning and spacious showers ensure a pleasant stay. While some might find the room decor outdated and the furnishings simplistic, the overall value for money is commended with many noting the calm environment and minimal outside noise.
Le Lichou's breakfast receives mixed reviews but generally leans positive. The simple, classic French-style meal is affordable at around 6€, offering fresh bread, butter, jam, honey, a hot drink and orange juice with the coffee being particularly praised. However, some guests express a desire for greater variety, such as the inclusion of pastries like croissants.
The evening meals at the hotel’s restaurant are a highlight, featuring authentic French cuisine that is both excellent and affordable. The menu, including homemade pizzas and a highly recommended four-course dinner set, provides exceptional value, especially with options like a set dinner at just 14€ inclusive of a glass of wine and coffee. Diners enjoy the garden setting and the friendly, welcoming staff, further enhancing the dining experience.
Guests frequently commend the staff's warm and welcoming attitude. The personal touch from the owner and the attentive nature of the staff contribute to an inviting atmosphere. Guests feel genuinely cared for, thanks to the kind and helpful service.
Parking is plentiful and secure with guests appreciating the free spaces available within the courtyard and the ease of access. The comfortable bedding and well-equipped rooms also receive praise, although some feedback mentions the firmness and size of the beds which may not suit everyone’s preference.
In summary, Le Lichou offers a blend of convenience, comfort and hospitality, making it an attractive choice for budget-conscious travelers seeking a peaceful and welcoming stopover.
