The peaceful environment, combined with the charming decor reflective of the building’s historical roots, makes it a favored retreat.
The rooms are a highlight, known for their spaciousness, cleanliness and beautifully quirky furnishings. Guests often commend the clean and comfortable living spaces, though minor improvements like additional blinds and better heating have been suggested. Despite some noise complaints, the unique thematic design and cozy atmosphere contribute positively to the overall guest experience.
Cleanliness in private areas receives commendations for tidiness and comfort, alongside well-equipped kitchens for meal preparation. However, the shared facilities present cleanliness challenges, especially the bathrooms, which have drawn criticism for their maintenance. The welcoming atmosphere created by the diverse and international mix of guests enhances the stay. However, inconsistencies in responsiveness and availability of the staff, alongside occasional issues with the cleaning staff’s conduct, highlight areas for potential improvement.
The beds evoke mixed sentiments. While some guests enjoyed comfortable and freshly made beds, others reported issues with the mattresses being too soft, worn-out or uncomfortable. Bunk beds, in particular, received notable criticism for being noisy and unstable, impacting the sleep quality.
Overall, 'The Old Doctors Office' stands out for its prime location, unique decor and friendly atmosphere. It is an ideal choice for those seeking an affordable stay with easy access to Hamburg’s attractions, though improvements in shared space cleanliness and bed quality would enhance the overall guest experience.
