What is the history of the property?
Our landmark hotel was inaugurated on 7 May 1889 during the world exhibition in
Paris. Built by architect Juste Lisch and initially named Hotel Terminus, the hotel was
designed to accommodate transatlantic travellers arriving from Normandy via the
Saint-Lazare station, designating it as one of the first "Grand Hotels"
