M Roof Hotel & Residences is well-regarded for its solid four-star service and facilities. Guests appreciate the professional and efficient staff, making it a preferred choice for future visits. The hotel is noted for its affordability without compromising on the essential amenities expected from a four-star establishment. However, there have been mentions of smaller room sizes and the presence of black mold in the shower area, which detracts from the overall experience. Impiana Hotel Ipoh provides an experience that aligns with a typical 4-star hotel, boasting overall 4-star service and amenities. However, some guests feel that the interior and facilities do not fully meet the expectations of a four-star rating, suggesting that certain aspects could benefit from modernization. While the general experience may be on par with a standard 4-star hotel, there are mixed opinions with some guests comparing it more favorably to a three-star hotel and others feeling it falls short of even that standard. Overall, the hotel offers a blend of amenities and services that generally align with its rating, albeit with room for improvement in certain areas.

Kinta Riverfront Hotel & Suites boasts a strategic location just outside the old town and near the city center of Ipoh, making it a convenient choice for travelers. Its setting near a lake provides a pleasant ambiance for guests. Despite being listed as a four-star hotel, experiences seem to vary widely among visitors. Some laud the hotel for its high standard and clean, comfortable accommodations, noting that the pillow size and breakfast meet the expectations of its star rating.
Nevertheless, there are recurring remarks on the dated decor and need for room maintenance, suggesting that the property doesn't consistently deliver on its promised four-star standards. A few visitors also noted telltale signs of the hotel's age, such as lingering cigarette smells in the corridors, despite it being classified as a non-smoking establishment. While it receives mixed feedback on whether it truly meets the four-star benchmark, it remains a good choice for family and group stays due to its convenient location and overall offerings.
