The North Hotel in Chiang Rai offers travelers an affordable yet comfortable stay with its prime central location and a commitment to cleanliness. Situated just steps away from the vibrant night market and the main bus station, guests enjoy unparalleled convenience for exploring local markets and cuisine without compromising on tranquility at night. The hotel's charming, aesthetically pleasing interior and warm atmosphere amplify its attractiveness.
Despite the compact nature of the rooms, many guests appreciate their cleanliness and cozy ambiance. While certain rooms offer a charming view of the terrace with comfortable seating, some accommodations can feel cramped with small bathrooms that may have inconsistent water pressure. Nonetheless, the overall quality-to-price ratio is commendable, especially for short stays.
Impeccable cleanliness is a hallmark of The North Hotel, receiving consistent praise from guests who frequently note the spotlessness of both rooms and common areas. Though there are some comments on dated decor and dim lighting, these minor drawbacks don't deter from the overall positive experience, aided by functional amenities like good Wi-Fi and adequate air conditioning. The terrace, in particular, provides a relaxing, clean space for guests.
The hotel's staff are a significant highlight, often described as friendly, helpful and efficient. The owner and manager receive specific mentions for their accommodating and caring approach. The team's ability to communicate in English, while not universal, is appreciated and contributes to the smooth handling of tours and city guidance.
One recurring critique pertains to the beds, which are noted for their extreme firmness—often compared to sleeping on the floor. While some guests find the beds sufficiently comfortable, this is a potential point of discomfort, particularly for those with sensitive backs.
Overall, The North Hotel presents a favorable balance between cost and comfort. It’s ideal for travelers looking to maximize their budget without sacrificing essential comforts, making it an exceptional option for short stays, transits or budget-conscious travelers seeking a central and clean accommodation.
