Hotel Casona del Valle, situated in the chic and serene neighborhood of Cariari, offers a tranquil and convenient retreat perfect for brief stopovers or a peaceful stay before departing due to its close proximity to the airport. Surrounded by beautiful houses and gardens, the location is praised for its safety and quiet environment while still being close to nature, supermarkets, restaurants and shopping plazas. This balance of convenience and tranquility makes it ideal for families seeking a peaceful and secure atmosphere.
The hotel receives high acclaim for its breakfast, described as excellent, delicious and hearty, often featuring a typical Costa Rican spread. Guests appreciate the fresh, homemade meals, generous portion sizes and made-to-order service. While dinner options are not available in-house, the staff provide ample information about nearby restaurants and the proximity to supermarkets and availability of services like Uber Eats offer convenience for dining.
Guest experiences with the rooms are mixed. The spacious and comfortable accommodations with large beds and good air conditioning are well-received, some featuring luxury touches like heated bathroom floors and jacuzzis. However, issues with cleanliness and maintenance are notable with reports of dust, mold and insects. Despite these drawbacks, the friendly staff and reasonable pricing, along with secure parking and a gated property, offer some compensation.
The staff at Hotel Casona del Valle are a standout feature, noted for their friendliness, professionalism and attentiveness. Guests highlight the team's helpfulness, from room changes to local attraction suggestions, enhancing the overall guest experience. Wi-Fi is generally strong and reliable, contributing to a connected stay for most guests.
The pool area garners mixed reviews; while some find it clean and inviting, others report cold temperatures and occasional maintenance issues. Nonetheless, the tranquil surroundings add to the appeal. Secure and easily accessible parking options, both valet and self-parking, receive praise for their convenience and safety, further enhancing the guest experience.
Families find Hotel Casona del Valle particularly welcoming with amenities and activities that cater to children, such as a piano in the hall. The safe neighborhood adds peace of mind for family travelers. Pets are also welcome with open spaces catering to their needs, making it a favorable choice for those traveling with animals.
Overall, while Hotel Casona del Valle offers a basic yet comfortable stay that feels more like an Airbnb, it provides good value for money, especially given the affordable pricing. For travelers not expecting luxury, the combination of friendly staff, strategic location and family-friendly amenities makes it a notable choice. However, addressing cleanliness and maintenance concerns could significantly enhance the guest experience.
