Summary of reviews
Summarized by AI
Hotel Palacio de Asturias provides a serene retreat on the outskirts of Oviedo, ideal for those with a car. The location offers splendid city views and easy access to surrounding towns, complemented by spacious rooms and exemplary cleanliness. Guests frequently praise the hotel's extensive, free parking, which is particularly valued in the context of Oviedo, where downtown parking can be challenging and costly.
Guests appreciate the tranquility and convenience of the hotel's setting, despite its position on a hill making it less accessible by foot. The dinner service with a set menu that many describe as having a homemade feel and good value for money, receives positive remarks for both quality and efficiency. Though the breakfast experience has mixed reviews, some guests find it satisfactory despite its limited offerings and presentation.
The rooms are noted for their spaciousness and cleanliness with various basic amenities provided. However, some issues persist such as outdated furnishings, thin pillows, uncomfortable beds and occasional reports of dirty showers. The cleanliness feedback is variable with many guests commending the general tidiness and daily cleaning, yet some detail areas needing improvement.
The staff interactions are mixed with some guests appreciating the politeness and attentiveness of certain staff members. However, numerous reviews highlight the lack of friendliness and professionalism, particularly at the reception.
Overall, while the hotel offers substantial comforts, such as ample free parking, great city views and clean, spacious rooms, it also faces criticisms regarding breakfast variety, bed comfort, staff service and certain cleanliness standards. Despite these areas for improvement, the hotel is generally seen as offering good value for money, especially for budget-conscious travelers.
