Holiday Inn Express Stevenage by IHG, enjoys a central location in Stevenage, making it convenient for guests visiting local attractions, business travellers and those commuting to nearby cities like London or Cambridge. The hotel is within walking distance of public transport and close to leisure centres, shopping malls and restaurants. Despite minor issues with navigating the area on foot and parking challenges, guests find the location ideal and praise the hotel's clean, comfortable rooms and friendly staff.
The breakfast experience at the hotel is generally positive with many guests appreciating the variety and quality of the options available. While there are some complaints about the limited vegan and vegetarian choices and occasional issues with food temperature and buffet replenishment, most visitors find the breakfast ample and satisfying. The helpfulness of the staff also contributes to a favorable breakfast experience.
Dinner at the hotel receives mixed reviews with some guests enjoying their meals and recommending the hotel for dinner, while others criticize the limited menu, high prices and quality of the food. There are instances of long wait times and service issues, suggesting room for improvement in the dining experience.
Guests frequently commend the spacious, comfortable and well-maintained rooms, noting their cleanliness and modern amenities. While some guests experience issues like noisy air conditioning, thin walls and occasional cleanliness oversights, the overall consensus is that the rooms offer great value and are accommodating for both individuals and families.
The hotel's high standards of cleanliness are consistently praised with guests appreciating the spotless rooms and well-maintained facilities. Housekeeping is noted for ensuring a tidy and pleasant environment, although some guests mention concerns with old carpets and isolated cleanliness issues.
The hotel staff receive high praise for their friendliness, professionalism and efficiency. Guests highlight the welcoming and helpful nature of the staff, who are attentive and willing to go the extra mile to ensure a pleasant stay. Specific staff members, such as Ellie at reception and Sophie the Duty Manager, receive special commendations for their exceptional service.
Complimentary WiFi is generally well-received with many guests finding the internet access fast and reliable. However, some experience poor signal strength and dropouts and there are occasional issues with staff knowledge on internet-related problems. Despite these setbacks, the overall feedback on the WiFi is positive.
Family experiences at the hotel are mostly positive with guests appreciating the convenient location, child-friendly environment and helpful staff. However, some families find the rooms too small for larger groups and note the need for more pillows and bedding. Breakfast arrangements for families also receive mixed feedback.
The beds at the hotel receive varied reviews with many guests finding them comfortable and conducive to a good night's sleep. Positive remarks highlight the clean and pleasant bedding, while criticism focuses on mattresses being too firm or old and sofa beds lacking comfort and sturdiness.
