Summary of reviews
Summarized by AI
DoubleTree by Hilton Poughkeepsie consistently receives high praise from guests for its prime location, impressive amenities, and exceptional service. Situated near the Metro-North train station and nestled in the vibrant heart of downtown, the hotel offers easy access to key attractions like the Hudson River Walkway, Marist College, and local dining and nightlife options. Guests appreciate the splendid views of the Hudson River and bridges, alongside the convenience of covered parking and proximity to breweries. Despite some areas surrounding the hotel being less desirable, the establishment itself maintains a quiet and welcoming environment, cementing its status as a preferred base for exploring Poughkeepsie.
The breakfast experience is largely favorable, featuring a generous buffet with a variety of quality options such as flavorful bacon, eggs, and fresh fruits, all served in a room with stunning river views. Although a few reviews noted discrepancies in charges, the friendly and attentive breakfast staff enhance the overall dining experience.
Rooms at the hotel are frequently lauded for their cleanliness, modern decor, and spaciousness. Guests enjoy the comfort of beautifully renovated rooms with brand-new furniture, stunning views, and practical amenities like microwaves and refrigerators. The beds, especially the king-size firm pillow tops, are mentioned as exceptionally comfortable, contributing to a restful sleep.
The hotel shines with its exemplary service, with staff members described as warm, courteous, and consistently going above and beyond to ensure a pleasant stay. The front desk personnel, particularly Ana, receive special commendation for their friendliness and efficiency. This high level of hospitality extends to the bar and restaurant staff, further enhancing the guest experience.
For business travelers, the hotel offers excellent facilities, including impressive business rooms with ample charging stations and large smart TVs. The ease of access to Marist College and the convention center makes it a convenient choice for events and conferences. Additionally, amenities such as luggage storage and quality bedding add to a hassle-free and comfortable stay.
Overall, DoubleTree by Hilton Poughkeepsie provides a commendable lodging experience with its ideal location, attentive service, and well-maintained modern amenities, ensuring a memorable visit for both leisure and business travelers.
