Summary of reviews
Summarized by AI
The Colonial Hotel stands out as a serene and charming retreat nestled in a stunning forested area, offering both seclusion and convenience for travelers. Its ideal location provides easy access to local attractions like the Wachusett Ski Area and major highways, making it a perfect choice for events and sightseeing while maintaining tranquil surroundings. The beautifully decorated hotel features resort-style amenities, welcoming pets, and an on-site restaurant and bar, adding to its allure despite limited dining options nearby.
Guests have praised the weekend breakfast buffet for its plentiful and delicious offerings, though some have noted the absence of weekday breakfast as a drawback. The on-site restaurant receives rave reviews for its excellent food, including highly favored dishes like French onion soup and quesadillas, coupled with a superb atmosphere and top-notch service. The Colonial Grille is noted as a standout feature, enhancing the dining experience.
The hotel rooms are an attractive blend of comfort and modern decor, featuring amenities like refrigerators and microwaves, which add convenience for guests. The spacious, clean, and quiet accommodations, complemented by friendly and efficient staff, contribute to a restful and welcoming environment. High cleanliness standards extend throughout the property, accompanied by elegant decorations and meticulously maintained interiors and exteriors.
Staff at the Colonial Hotel are a significant highlight, frequently described as polite, friendly, and incredibly helpful, ensuring a pleasant and efficient experience. The spa, pool, and fitness facilities are also well-regarded, providing guests with ample leisure and relaxation options, although some have wished for warmer water temperatures.
Families find the hotel particularly appealing due to spacious rooms, a fun arcade, and an inviting indoor pool, offering a kid-friendly atmosphere that resonates with guests of all ages. Comfortable beds contribute to the overall restful experience, and minor concerns are overshadowed by the hotel's reputation for providing outstanding hospitality and comfort.
Overall, the Colonial Hotel represents a spotless haven, captivating guests with its beautiful location, outstanding service, and comprehensive amenities, encouraging many to return for future stays.
