Summary of reviews
Summarized by AI
Hotel Olimpo le Terrazze is highly regarded for its picturesque location, offering breathtaking panoramic views of the sea, mountains and the charming town of Taormina. Its strategic hilltop position not only provides stunning vistas but also convenient access to nearby attractions such as Letojanni and Taormina. Guests appreciate the well-organized structure with many rooms featuring sea views, as well as the panoramic swimming pool and the vintage cable car that adds to the overall charm of the stay.
The hotel's breakfast experience is generally well-received for its variety and abundance, including freshly squeezed orange juice and a good range of sweet and savory options. While there are some suggestions for improvement in terms of variety and freshness, the positive reviews highlight a satisfying start to the day for many guests. Dinner experiences are mixed with many praising the quality and plentiful nature of the food, especially the seafood, though some mention that it could be more consistent to meet the standards of a 4-star hotel.
Rooms at Hotel Olimpo le Terrazze are spacious and mostly clean with comfortable beds and stunning sea views from some balconies. However, the décor is frequently described as outdated and there are occasional reports of maintenance issues and noise disturbances. Cleanliness overall is positively noted by many, though a few guests did experience lapses in housekeeping standards.
The staff at Hotel Olimpo le Terrazze receive high marks for their friendliness, professionalism and attentiveness. The welcoming nature of the reception and restaurant teams, particularly individuals like Ignazio and Lorenzo, is frequently praised. While there are occasional reports of unhelpful behavior and organizational issues, the majority of guests have positive interactions with the attentive staff.
Wi-Fi connectivity is generally good with solid indoor coverage ensuring that guests can stay connected throughout their stay. Minor issues have been noted but do not significantly detract from the overall positive experience.
The pool area, featuring both indoor and outdoor options, is clean and well-maintained, offering a relaxing retreat with beautiful surroundings. Overcrowding and early closing times are noted as minor drawbacks but do not overshadow the overall appeal of the pool facilities.
For families, the hotel is highly recommended, featuring child-friendly amenities and easy access to pools and recreation areas. The funicular and panoramic elevator add an engaging experience for children.
Regarding bedding, guests have had mixed experiences. While comfortable and spacious setups are noted, some guests have found the mattresses uncomfortable and noted issues with hygiene, such as bed bugs and ants.
Hotel Olimpo le Terrazze aims to provide a 4-star experience, but some aspects, such as the dining and room decor, fall short of this standard, aligning more closely with a 3-star rating. Nonetheless, its accessibility features are notable, though parking and certain room amenities could see improvements.
Overall, Hotel Olimpo le Terrazze is appreciated for its remarkable views, strategic location, friendly staff and pleasant pool areas, making it a favored choice for travelers eager to explore the scenic Sicilian landscape.
