The Ridge offers an affordable and good value for money accommodation option in New York City, particularly suitable for shorter stays of 1-2 nights. The hotel is centrally located, making it convenient for exploring the city. Many guests found the price-performance ratio to be excellent, aligning well with their expectations given the area. The hotel looks quite modern and provides a pleasant experience without trying to be a high-end destination.
However, there are some notable drawbacks. The hotel lacks breakfast services and there is no front desk, which some guests found inconvenient. While the staff is kind and well-intentioned, the management of room maintenance requires significant improvement. Issues such as no daily cleaning, insufficient towels and overall cleanliness have been reported. The condition of the rooms felt more like two stars rather than three with some guests experiencing uninviting elements like very soft beds, a loud fan and uncontrollable heating.
In summary, The Ridge is a good choice for budget-conscious travelers who prioritize location over luxury and do not have high expectations for amenities and services.
