Keep in mind that Key West is not known for its beaches as it is built on coral, so guests should not expect to find long stretches of sand. That being said, the hotel's private beach offered a peaceful retreat from the crowds with iguanas and chickens for company.

However, be cautious with children as it requires crossing a busy 4 lane road with no crosswalk. Nevertheless, the property is awesome and the rooms are clean and close to the beach. The pool area is great as well, but nothing quite beats the beauty of the sandy beach right in front of the hotel. Overall, the location to the beach is excellent and very convenient being right across from Smathers beach.
