The White Horse Inn in Clun garners high praise for its superb location, exceptional hospitality and impressive amenities, making it a charming and welcoming retreat for travelers. Nestled in the heart of Clun, the inn's prime location offers guests the convenience and charm of exploring the South Shropshire countryside. With access to the scenic Offa's Dyke Path and picturesque village ambiance, it's an ideal base for motorbike rides and walking holidays. The traditional pub setting enhances the experience with friendly staff and a great selection of local ales.
Guests frequently commend the breakfast offerings, noting the excellent variety and quality, particularly praising perfectly prepared poached eggs. The dinner menu also receives accolades for its homemade feel and generous portions with popular dishes like steak and ale pie and fish and chips. Though some diners suggest more menu diversity, the overall sentiment is positive, reflecting a satisfying and tasty dining experience.
Rooms at The White Horse Inn are consistently praised for their cleanliness, comfort and modern amenities such as comfortable beds and rainfall showers. Guests appreciate the airy, well-maintained spaces, which offer a cosy and welcoming feel, ensuring a pleasant stay. Despite a minor mention of cold temperatures in one room, the overall impression is positive.
Cleanliness is a strong point with rooms described as spotlessly clean and well-maintained, enhancing the comfort of guests. The staff's warmth and hospitality contribute significantly to the inn's welcoming and pleasant atmosphere. Named staff members and the landlord are frequently mentioned for their attentiveness, making guests feel like part of the community.
The inn's beds receive high marks for comfort, which, along with additional amenities like spacious rooms and strong Wi-Fi, contribute to a restful stay. While some found the mattresses a bit too soft, the majority are satisfied with the comfort provided.
The dog-friendly environment is another highlight with the inn going above and beyond to accommodate pets by providing dog bowls, towels, beds and blankets. The enclosed beer garden allows dogs to roam off-lead, making the stay enjoyable for both pets and their owners.
Overall, The White Horse Inn with its friendly atmosphere, lovely rooms and high-quality food, offers excellent value for money.
