Summary of reviews
Summarized by AI
Castle View, 94-96 Friar Lane, in Nottingham is highly regarded for its prime location directly opposite Nottingham Castle, offering guests striking views and easy access to the city center's attractions, shops, and dining options. Visitors appreciate the quietness of the area despite its central position, as well as convenient parking and public transport access. The hotel provides excellent value for money for short stays, highlighted by friendly and efficient staff who enhance guests' overall experiences.
The rooms at Castle View are spacious, clean, and designed for comfort, with notably comfortable beds that guests frequently praise. Although the accommodations are straightforward, featuring modern amenities like smart TVs, the property operates more like a shared house, with limited in-room facilities—such as the absence of kettles, nightstands, or mini fridges. Some guests have mentioned issues with noise and minor maintenance problems.
Cleanliness at Castle View receives mixed reviews. Many guests commend the fresh towels, comfortable beds, and general tidiness. However, there are criticisms regarding dust accumulation, unclean bathrooms, and outdated elements in need of attention. Additionally, ongoing building work has contributed to dust in common areas.
The staff at Castle View are frequently complimented for their welcoming nature and excellent communication skills, contributing significantly to the positive guest experience. Though interaction with staff is sometimes minimal, the efficiency and friendliness of the team ensure a smooth check-in process and overall pleasant stay.
While Castle View offers a basic, minimalistic ambiance with limited amenities, its affordability makes it attractive to budget-conscious travelers. Overall, it is an ideal choice for those prioritizing location, comfortable beds, and valuable service in Nottingham.
