The gym at Grande Hotel Petrópolis receives mixed reviews from guests, highlighting both its features and areas for improvement. On the positive side, guests appreciate that the gym is simple but well-maintained. It includes useful amenities such as a water fountain and is well-structured with a sauna also available. However, several guests noted that the gym looks very old and could benefit from better equipment and maintenance. Additionally, the gym's operating hours, opening only at 9:00 AM, were inconvenient for those wishing to exercise before breakfast. There were also instances when the gym was completely closed, which disappointed some visitors. Overall, while the gym provides basic facilities, there is room for significant improvement.

Kastel Pedra Bonita offers a serene and beautiful retreat nestled amidst lush nature. Visitors are captivated by the tranquil environment, stunning mountain views and picturesque settings, making it an ideal spot for romantic getaways and family retreats. The hotel's accessible location on BR-040 connects it conveniently to Itaipava and Petrópolis, though guests should be prepared for some highway noise and reliance on cars due to the remote setting.
The breakfast at the hotel consistently receives high praise for its abundance and quality, featuring a variety of fresh and delicious options. Standouts include the Petrópolis toast and freshly made tapioca. Dinner experiences are generally positive with the ambiance and specific dishes such as shrimp risotto and fondue being notable highlights, though there's a call for more menu variety and improved service efficiency.
Rooms at Kastel Pedra Bonita are spacious and comfortable with features like cozy fireplaces and large whirlpool bathtubs, but they exhibit a need for renovation and maintenance. Some rooms suffer from mold smells, outdated fixtures and maintenance issues, detracting from the overall experience. Cleanliness is generally satisfactory with many guests highlighting the spotless condition and well-maintained accommodations, although more diligent attention to certain areas and older parts of the property is needed.
The staff service stands out as a prominent feature, praised for their friendliness, attentiveness and efficiency. Specific staff members are frequently recognized for their exceptional service, contributing to a welcoming and homely atmosphere. Despite occasional understaffing, the overall hospitality experience is highly recommended.
Wi-Fi quality varies with some guests enjoying excellent connectivity throughout the hotel, while others experience instability and poor television signals. The spa offers high-quality massage services and a highly praised steam sauna, though the dry sauna and Jacuzzi require attention and maintenance. The pool facilities, particularly the heated pool, are a significant highlight, well-maintained and enjoyed by many guests, though minor maintenance and service improvements could enhance the experience.
Parking amenities are ample, safe and free, but the considerable distance from the parking areas to the rooms is a notable inconvenience for many guests. The hotel is particularly family-friendly with a range of amenities and activities catering to both children and adults, making it a favored choice for families seeking a relaxed and engaging getaway.
Overall, while Kastel Pedra Bonita offers a charming and tranquil escape with many commendable features, addressing specific areas for improvement would significantly enhance the guest experience.
