Summary of reviews
Summarized by AI
Preston Park Hotel receives generally favorable reviews, especially regarding its strategic location and welcoming staff. The hotel boasts an ideal spot near Preston Park with easy access to Brighton city center via public transport and major roads, which guests find highly convenient. Free car parking is another notable perk, highly appreciated in a city where parking can be difficult.
The breakfast experience is mixed with some guests satisfied with the continental options and their value for money, while others express disappointment over the limited choices and quality of the offerings. The absence of cooked breakfast and issues with availability further contribute to the mixed feedback.
Rooms at the hotel are spacious and equipped with essential amenities, receiving praise for comfort and cleanliness from some visitors. However, the overall decor is dated and exhibits signs of wear and tear, detracting from the experience. Incidents of poor maintenance and occasional cleanliness issues highlight the need for refurbishment to lift the hotel's dated appearance.
Cleanliness receives mixed reviews with a split between guests finding rooms spotless and others pointing out significant cleanliness shortcomings. Despite diligent housekeeping staff, recurring complaints about mold, stained carpets and general dirtiness indicate that better maintenance and thorough cleaning practices are needed.
The staff is highly praised for their friendliness and helpfulness, making a notable positive impact on guests' experiences. Their welcoming attitude, attentiveness and efforts to assist guests consistently receive commendations, even though there are isolated incidents of unhelpful interactions.
Free WiFi at the hotel is inconsistent with frequent complaints about weak signals and connection problems, impacting the overall guest experience. On the other hand, the parking facilities are praised for their convenience and availability, which adds significant value to the stay.
Lastly, bed comfort is another mixed area with some guests appreciating the cleanliness and comfort of the beds, while others express dissatisfaction with mattress hardness and pillow quality. An update in bedding could potentially address these inconsistencies.
Overall, Preston Park Hotel is valued for its convenient location and friendly staff, but it would benefit greatly from improvements in room maintenance, breakfast variety, WiFi reliability and an update in bedding to enhance the overall guest experience.
