Guests frequently express delight in the stunning vistas visible from the inn's balconies or patios, emphasizing the scenic beauty as a highlight of their stay. The inn's proximity to Watkins Glen State Park and other local attractions enhances its appeal, making it a convenient choice for those eager to explore the area. The nearby tiki bar contributes to a lively atmosphere with live music and a charm that complements the inn's traditional, clean, and dog-friendly accommodations.
While the breakfast offering at The Anchor Inn is generally described as simple, it meets basic expectations with options like coffee, tea, juice boxes, and packaged muffins. Guests often find the available items fresh, though there is room for improvement in offering more substantial and varied choices. Despite this, the breakfast aligns with a continental style, satisfying many visitors.
When it comes to rooms, The Anchor Inn provides a comfortable and charming experience, with cleanliness being a notable highlight. Rooms are spacious and well-appointed with practical amenities such as microwaves, refrigerators, and TVs. Guests particularly appreciate the lake views from the balconies, adding to the serene environment. Some minor issues, like creaky floors and limited electrical outlets, are mentioned, but they do not significantly detract from the overall positive experience.
The staff at The Anchor Inn receive consistent praise for their warmth and friendliness. Guests frequently commend the team for their helpfulness, attentive service, and accommodating nature, with particular mentions of the manager and owner contributing to a welcoming atmosphere. The exceptional service enhances the experience, making guests feel well cared for.
Parking at The Anchor Inn is generally convenient, with free parking located close to the rooms. While the steep driveway can pose a challenge for larger vehicles and could benefit from improvements, most guests appreciate the ease it offers, especially when unloading luggage.
Finally, the beds at The Anchor Inn are mostly praised for their comfort, with many guests describing the mattresses and pillows as excellent and conducive to a restful night's sleep. Although preferences for mattress types differ among guests, the majority find satisfaction in the quality of the bedding.
