Damai Beach Resort is favorably recognized for its stunning location, offering captivating views of Mount Santubong and the ocean, complemented by clean, charming beaches. Ideal for those seeking tranquility, the resort's setting provides a serene retreat from urban life with close access to cultural attractions such as the Sarawak Cultural Village and nearby amenities. Guests appreciate the resort’s hilltop pool, scenic spots and friendly staff, even though the property shows signs of aging and could benefit from renovations.
Breakfast at the resort receives mixed reviews; positive feedback highlights the variety, taste and freshness of specific dishes like curry chicken and Nasi Lemak. However, there are calls for greater variety and faster replenishment of the buffet items, as well as improvements in logistical aspects such as reducing queuing times and enhancing service efficiency.
Dinner service mirrors this mixed sentiment. While considered decent value, the cost of meals is often viewed as high and the quality of food varies with particular criticism directed at the buffet options. Guests also report issues with service speed and availability of menu items, often suggesting dining at nearby restaurants instead.
The accommodations are praised for their spaciousness and comfort, particularly for families with children, yet the rooms tend to be outdated and in need of significant maintenance. Cleanliness is another area requiring attention with several reports of unclean facilities and inadequate housekeeping. The responsive staff attempts to address these issues, though systemic improvements are necessary.

Special mentions of staff members like Ms. Aisyah and driver Ramzi highlight exceptional service. While there are occasional reports of under-staffing and slow service, the overall sentiment towards the staff remains highly favorable.
The WiFi situation at the resort is unsatisfactory for many with limited access confined mostly to the lobby area and poor connectivity in rooms. This issue might be a significant drawback for guests relying on constant internet access.
