Atami New Fujiya Hotel stands out for its prime location, which is highly appreciated by guests for its convenience and proximity to attractions such as the beach, Ginza shopping district, Atami Station and other key sites like Kinnomiya Shrine. The vibrant surrounding area, complete with izakayas and convenience stores, enhances the overall travel experience. Despite the parking lot being a bit distant, amenities like the shuttle bus and the hotel's atmosphere enrich the stay.
The hotel's dining experience, specifically breakfast, receives mostly positive feedback. Guests rave about the wide variety at the breakfast buffet, noting its spacious and efficiently managed setup. Both breakfast and dinner are available buffet-style, providing a diverse selection that caters to many tastes, including options like sashimi, sushi and the all-you-can-drink feature during dinner. Though some guests encountered inconsistencies, the overall dining quality and variety are praised.
The staff at Atami New Fujiya Hotel are frequently lauded for their kindness, helpfulness and attentive service, which adds significantly to the welcoming atmosphere. The front desk team, in particular, is noted for their exemplary service, enhancing the guest experience despite occasional instances of rough service due to busyness.
However, the rooms and cleanliness are areas requiring significant improvement. Rooms are often described as small, old-fashioned and sometimes emitting unpleasant smells. They lack essential amenities and have reported issues with cleanliness and maintenance, such as dirty curtains, bathrooms, mold and insect carcasses. Common areas and facilities like the game center and open-air bath have also received criticism for insufficient cleaning and upkeep.
The free Wi-Fi is limited to the lobby area, which can be a drawback for guests needing reliable internet access in their rooms. Additionally, the beds present a mixed experience; while some find them comfortable, others report issues with bed size, firmness and condition. Despite these challenges, the strong support from the hotel staff, especially in managing reservations and car receipts, is appreciated.
In summary, while Atami New Fujiya Hotel excels in location and staff service and its dining options generally meet guest expectations, significant improvements in room condition and cleanliness are needed to enhance the overall guest experience.
