The Holiday Inn Express & Suites Chicago West-O'Hare Arpt Area by IHG is highly regarded by guests for its strategic location, making it convenient for travelers requiring access to both O'Hare International Airport and downtown Chicago. The surrounding area offers numerous dining and shopping options, including a super Target and Five Below, further enhancing its appeal. The quiet rooms and ample parking add to the overall comfort and accessibility, despite some ongoing construction.
Guests generally speak highly of the breakfast, noting the variety and quality of offerings such as hot food items, eggs, sausage, waffles, and freshly baked cinnamon rolls. The friendly and attentive staff, including the breakfast team, are often praised for their service, though some guests suggest improvements in variety and item resupply.
The rooms are frequently highlighted for their spaciousness, cleanliness, and comfort, with many appreciating recent renovations that have modernized the interiors. However, some guests reported inconsistencies with room conditions, pointing out issues such as outdated decor and occasional cleanliness lapses.
Cleanliness reviews are mixed; while many commend the hotel for its well-maintained bedrooms and common areas, others have noted issues with dirty carpets, stained furniture, and malfunctioning appliances. Despite these concerns, many describe a satisfactory level of cleanliness and a calm atmosphere.
The staff receives considerable praise for their friendliness and support, contributing positively to the guest experience. Standout staff members are often mentioned for their exceptional service. While most interactions are positive, a few guests encountered less favorable experiences with certain staff members.
The indoor pool is a popular feature, with guests enjoying its cleanliness and pleasant water temperature. However, some have reported maintenance issues and a cool water temperature, coupled with the permanent closure of the hot tub.
Beds at the hotel are a highlight, with many describing them as exceptionally comfortable, contributing to a restful stay. Guests often praise the quality of pillows and overall bedding comfort, though a minority mentioned occasional issues with odors and maintenance.
Overall, the Holiday Inn Express & Suites Chicago West-O'Hare Arpt Area by IHG offers a promising stay with favorable amenities and location, but prospective guests may benefit from checking the status of facilities and addressing specific concerns prior to their visit.
