Summary of reviews
Summarized by AI
Hotel Cromwell Stevenage is highly praised for its enviable location in the picturesque Old Town, surrounded by an array of restaurants, bars and shops. Its proximity to Luton Airport and major transport links into London makes it ideal for both short and extended stays. Guest reviews frequently describe its placement as perfect, boasting easy access to local amenities, attractions and convenient parking arrangements, adding to its appeal.
The hotel delivers a positive breakfast experience, frequently highlighted as tasty with a great selection. Many guests appreciate the variety and quality of the food, often mentioning items like scrambled eggs and sausages as particularly good. Despite a few criticisms regarding food temperature and occasional service inefficiencies, the overall impression of the breakfast is favorable.
The dining experience at the hotel’s Rump and Wade restaurant mostly garners positive remarks for its well-presented and fairly priced food. Guests appreciate the lovely and attentive dinner staff, though inconsistencies in food quality and service speed can occasionally detract from the experience.
Rooms at Hotel Cromwell Stevenage are often described as clean, comfortable and beautifully decorated. Guests enjoy the tasteful and modern decor, though some have faced issues with room temperature and noise. The overall cleanliness is commended with daily housekeeping ensuring high standards, notwithstanding a few isolated lapses.
The staff are frequently lauded for their friendliness, helpfulness and professionalism. Key members such as Joanne, Gabbie and Hollie receive special mentions for their exceptional service. While there are occasional incidents of less than satisfactory service, the consensus is that the staff greatly enhance the guest experience with their warm and accommodating nature.
WiFi connectivity at the hotel presents a mixed experience with some guests enjoying stable connections while others struggle with patchy and unreliable access, especially in certain areas of the hotel.
For families, the hotel provides good value despite the small size of family rooms. It caters well to those visiting for family events or gatherings. Beds receive mixed reviews, though many guests find them comfortable and conducive to a good night's sleep. However, some concerns about bed size, firmness and occasional discomfort are noted.
As a three-star establishment, Hotel Cromwell Stevenage offers a solid value-for-money experience. It generally meets the expectations set for its rating, providing good service and quiet nights despite some areas needing a refresh.
Accessibility, however, remains a significant concern due to the lack of lifts and wheelchair-accessible rooms, making it less suitable for guests with mobility issues. The hotel's charming historical character does come with the drawback of challenging navigation for those with disabilities.
Finally, the hotel extends a genuinely welcoming atmosphere for pets, offering specific provisions for dogs, making it a favorable choice for pet owners despite a refundable deposit requirement for pets.
Overall, Hotel Cromwell Stevenage is highly regarded for its central location, quality breakfast, charming rooms and friendly staff, though potential guests should be aware of its few shortcomings regarding accessibility and WiFi reliability.
