Summary of reviews

Red Roof Inn Philadelphia - Oxford Valley is frequently praised for its excellent location, making it a preferred choice for families visiting nearby Sesame Place and travelers on road trips due to its easy access off the highway. The hotel's close proximity to stores, restaurants and gas stations adds to its convenience and the competitive pricing provides good value compared to other accommodations in the area.
The rooms are generally described as basic but clean and spacious, equipped with essential amenities such as a bed, microwave and fridge. While the performance of the shower received positive remarks, there were consistent mentions of outdated furnishings, occasional cleanliness lapses and issues with odors. Despite these drawbacks, the proximity to attractions and the overall value of the stay are appreciated by many visitors.
Cleanliness, however, stands out as a significant area needing improvement. Numerous guests reported issues such as dirty rooms and bathrooms, unpleasant odors, stained linens and mold. The outside areas were also noted to be poorly maintained with accumulating trash and spider webs. These issues suggest that both housekeeping and maintenance services need substantial enhancement.
The staff experiences at the hotel are mixed. Several positive reviews commend the friendliness and helpfulness of certain front desk employees, especially for their accommodating behavior towards families with children. However, there are also reports of unprofessional and rude interactions, particularly with night clerks and instances of staff being unavailable or unwilling to address problems promptly.
Feedback on the beds varies widely. Many guests enjoyed a comfortable sleep, but there were significant concerns about the condition and cleanliness of the bedding. Some travelers encountered issues with old, lumpy mattresses and stained linens with a few extreme cases involving bed bugs. These problems underline the need for an upgrade in bed quality and improved cleaning practices.
In summary, while Red Roof Inn Philadelphia - Oxford Valley excels in location and value, it faces challenges in maintaining cleanliness and staff consistency. Addressing these issues could greatly enhance the overall guest experience.
