Summary of reviews
Summarized by AI
Holiday Inn - Glasgow Airport by IHG, receives commendations for its exceptionally convenient location directly across from Glasgow Airport. The proximity to the terminal makes it an ideal choice for travelers with early or late flights, offering a quick and stress-free transition. Despite its location, guests enjoy quiet and comfortable rooms, further enhanced by easy access to public transportation and car rental drop-off points.
The breakfast experience is generally positive with guests appreciating the wide selection and high quality of food, including options like a pancake machine and gluten-free items. The 6am start time is convenient for early departures, although some wish it could start even earlier. Despite occasional inconsistencies in quality and service, many find the breakfast worthwhile and the staff friendly and helpful.
For dining, the hotel offers a mix of reviews. Many guests enjoy the well-cooked and varied menu in the restaurant with particular praise for specific dishes like mushroom risotto and chicken tikka. The staff's handling of dietary requirements is appreciated. However, concerns about high prices, service speed and occasional food quality issues suggest there is room for improvement.
Rooms are widely regarded as clean, comfortable and quiet despite the hotel's airport location. Guests appreciate the comfortable beds and friendly staff. However, many note that the rooms and public areas are outdated and would benefit from refurbishment. Issues such as inconsistent heating/air conditioning and room size are also mentioned.
Cleanliness receives mixed reviews. While many guests find the hotel spotlessly clean, others report inconsistencies, pointing to areas like stained carpets, moldy bathrooms and insufficiently cleaned fixtures as needing attention. Despite these issues, the cleaning staff are praised for their efficiency and friendliness.
The hotel staff are frequently mentioned for their friendliness and professionalism, significantly enhancing the guest experience. Reception staff are noted for their helpfulness and restaurant staff for their attentive service. Some reviews do mention slow service and occasional unresponsiveness, but the general consensus remains positive regarding the staff's overall service quality.
Wi-Fi at the hotel is adequate for basic needs but often criticized for being slow and unstable, particularly in guest rooms. Although the business center provides satisfactory Wi-Fi, improvements in speed and reliability would enhance the overall guest experience.
Parking is convenient but comes with high fees and some organizational challenges. While many guests appreciate the availability of parking, the charges and confusing setup create a less ideal experience for some, suggesting the need for clearer signage and possibly updated pricing structures.
For families, the hotel offers a welcoming atmosphere with spacious family rooms and a policy where kids eat free, making it economical and convenient. The staff's friendliness and helpfulness further enhance the family-friendly environment, although there are mentions of limited family facilities that could benefit from better organization.
In summary, Holiday Inn - Glasgow Airport by IHG, is highly praised for its prime location and general comfort with notable strengths in its breakfast offerings and staff service. However, improvements in room updates, cleanliness consistency, Wi-Fi reliability and clearer parking arrangements would elevate the guest experience further.
