Summary of reviews
Summarized by AI
Thorpe Lodge Hotel enjoys a prime and convenient location, making it a popular choice for travelers. Just a short 10-minute walk from the city center and the train station, the hotel benefits from easy access to various amenities, including a supermarket across the street and a nearby bus stop. The hotel's free and secure parking further adds to its appeal.
The rooms are generally described as clean, comfortable and well-stocked with amenities like tea and coffee, boasting comfortable beds and fresh linen. Many guests have appreciated the cozy, well-presented spaces and the availability of hot water. Despite these positives, some rooms have been reported as either too hot, too cold or in need of renovation with occasional complaints about noise and unpleasant odors.
Cleanliness receives mixed reviews; while many guests commend the hotel's tidy rooms and friendly atmosphere, others have pointed out maintenance issues, stale smells and inconsistent sanitation. The staff is frequently praised for their welcoming and friendly demeanor, enhancing the guests' experience despite occasional mentions of unavailability or unprofessional behavior.
Breakfast services have been a significant letdown for many with the advertised breakfast often unavailable due to ongoing kitchen renovations, causing disappointment amongst guests relying on it.
The hotel's WiFi service has received varied feedback. While some guests found the connection reliable and suitable for streaming, others encountered issues with connectivity, lack of WiFi codes and poor signals in rooms.
Parking is a strong point for Thorpe Lodge Hotel with guests appreciating the free, ample and secure facilities that provide easy access to the town and major roads.
In summary, Thorpe Lodge Hotel excels in location, staff friendliness and parking facilities, offering good value for money. However, potential guests should be aware of occasional shortcomings in room maintenance, cleanliness and breakfast availability, which can affect the overall stay experience.
