The rooms at The Asbury Hotel are lauded for their cleanliness, comfort and modern design, featuring unique amenities like record players that add character. Guests enjoy the heated outdoor pool, ample seating and additional amenities like a fire pit and poolside food and drink service. The lively atmosphere, enhanced by live DJ sets and games, makes it a favorite spot among visitors.
Parking, however, is a noted concern with many guests finding the valet service costly. Despite the efficient and friendly valet staff, the high parking fees are a common point of dissatisfaction.
Beds receive mixed reviews with many guests finding them comfortable and conducive to a restful stay. Nonetheless, some visitors suggest upgrades are needed for the mattresses and pillows to enhance the overall comfort and quality.
Lastly, The Asbury Hotel is exceptionally pet-friendly, earning praise from guests traveling with pets. The accommodating attitude and supportive staff create a welcoming environment for both pets and their owners, making it an ideal choice for those seeking a pet-friendly stay.

On the cleanliness front, the hotel is commended for its spacious, clean and comfortable rooms. While some guests appreciate the Art Deco design and retro ambience, others note the need for updates and maintenance, specifically citing outdated furnishings and occasional issues with mold in bathrooms or slow-draining showers. Despite these concerns, the rooms still offer a decent level of comfort with some guests enjoying the historical and nostalgic aspects of the building.
The lack of complimentary breakfast options and in-room coffee facilities tends to be a point of dissatisfaction for many guests, who find the available selections limited and lacking in variety. This leaves some guests seeking breakfast alternatives outside the hotel.
Parking presents a notable drawback with guests expressing frustration over the high costs of valet parking and the inconvenience of either street or distant lot parking. Many feel that parking charges should be included in the room price, given the overall cost of staying at the hotel.
Lastly, bed comfort experiences vary with many guests finding the beds very comfortable, while others describe them as hard and the pillows as uncomfortable. Despite these mixed reviews, a subset of visitors appreciates the overall ambiance and retro feel of the rooms.
In summary, the Berkeley Oceanfront Hotel shines with its exceptional location, friendly staff and enjoyable pool area, making it a solid choice for those seeking a beachside retreat.
