Located conveniently in Dandenong, ibis Budget offers guests an ideal spot close to a supermarket, shopping centers and the Dandenong Monash hospital. Its proximity to the mall, CBD and venues like the nearby volleyball stadium and Sandown raceway make it an appealing choice for both leisure and business travelers. Guests appreciated the excellent value for money, free parking and the friendly and helpful staff, making the hotel a practical choice for visitors.
The rooms are praised for their cleanliness, comfort and essential amenities including a TV and well-working air conditioning. Many guests noted the rooms were quiet and tidy, suitable for a short, budget-friendly stay. However, the compact size of the rooms and bathrooms is a common concern with some mentioning strange smells and cleanliness inconsistencies.
The staff is frequently highlighted as a strong positive aspect, providing a welcoming atmosphere and exceptional service. Friendly and accommodating employees at the front desk, including notable mentions of Neville and assistant manager Sam, contribute significantly to the hotel's reputation.
Parking is another well-received feature with guests appreciating the ample on-site and off-street spaces, though some security concerns have been noted. The beds receive mixed reviews; while many guests found them comfortable with clean sheets and towels, others noted issues with hardness or sagging.
Cleanliness experiences are mixed with positives pointing to clean, tidy rooms and beddings. Nonetheless, several guests reported issues such as dirty floors, clogged bathroom drains and dust problems. These indicate a need for more thorough and consistent housekeeping.
The breakfast provided is generally seen as basic and inadequate with many finding the selection limited and the service inconsistent, partly due to Covid-19 restrictions. The Wi-Fi also drew criticism for being slow, unreliable and poorly accessible in rooms.
Accessibility does pose challenges with the lack of an elevator and issues with reserved parking for disabled individuals. The small and impractical bathrooms and numerous stairs present difficulties for guests with mobility issues.
In summary, ibis Budget - Dandenong offers a good value, practical choice with a convenient location and friendly staff, but would benefit from improvements in room size, cleanliness consistency, breakfast quality, internet service and accessibility features.
