The Red Roof Inn Birmingham South is highly appreciated for its convenient location, situated near downtown Birmingham, major highways and within easy reach of shopping and dining options. Surrounded by essential services and a quiet, safe environment, it proves an ideal base for travelers on the go. The strategic location and reasonable pricing contribute to its appeal.
Guest opinions about the rooms are a mixed bag. Many guests have enjoyed clean, modernized rooms with comfortable beds, updated bathrooms and useful amenities such as microwaves and fridges. However, there are reports of cleanliness and maintenance issues, including dirty rooms, unpleasant odors and non-functional amenities, indicating inconsistent quality across the property.
The hotel's cleanliness also receives varied feedback. Some guests commend the tidy organized rooms, clean sheets and bathrooms, leading to a pleasant stay. Yet, there are frequent mentions of dirty floors, unclean bathrooms and unpleasant smells, pointing to inadequate housekeeping in some instances.
Staff interactions tend to be positive with many guests praising the friendliness and helpfulness of the team. Specific staff members receive commendations for their exceptional service. Nonetheless, there are occasional reports of uncooperative or indifferent behavior at the front desk, suggesting room for improvement in customer service.
Wi-Fi experiences vary with some guests appreciating the secure and decent connection, while others face issues like intermittent service and slow speeds, suggesting an uneven internet experience. The hotel's dog-friendly policy is a notable advantage, allowing dogs to stay free, although some rooms have been reported to smell of dog and smoke.
Comfortable beds are frequently mentioned, contributing positively to the overall stay experience, though some guests find them too hard or inconveniently made. Despite this, the hotel remains a favorable choice for travelers who prioritize location and pet-friendliness over luxury.
