Summary of reviews
Summarized by AI
The Gibraltar Bowral enjoys widespread acclaim for its strategic location, offering a blend of convenience and tranquility. Situated just outside Bowral town, it provides a peaceful retreat with stunning views of the golf course and Mount Gibraltar. This setting is perfect for guests looking to explore nearby attractions, shops, restaurants and wineries while enjoying a serene, bush environment.
Breakfast at the hotel garners generally positive reviews for its delicious offerings and scenic views over the golf course, though some guests wish for a greater variety and warmer service. Dinner at the Observatory Restaurant receives mixed feedback; while praised for its delicious and well-prepared meals, the limited menu options and high prices are points of contention. The quality of the food and the cozy ambiance of the bar—especially on weekend nights—are frequently highlighted.
The rooms at The Gibraltar Bowral are a major highlight, known for their spaciousness, modern amenities and cleanliness. Guests appreciate the luxurious feel, comfortable beds and beautiful views from the rooms. Although some isolated incidents of uncleanliness are mentioned, the overall experience remains overwhelmingly positive.
Regarding cleanliness, the hotel's modern appearance and well-kept facilities received praise, though inconsistent housekeeping sometimes detracted from the otherwise fresh and tidy environment. The staff, frequently described as friendly and helpful, contribute significantly to the positive guest experience, making visitors feel welcome and well-served.
Free wifi access is generally strong and reliable, further enhancing the convenience of the stay. The gym is considered minimal with limited equipment, which contrasts with the hotel's overall luxurious reputation. The indoor heated pool receives generally favorable reviews, especially from families, despite some complaints about overcrowding and occasional closures.
The Gibraltar Bowral is notably family-friendly, offering spacious accommodations and an enjoyable pool area for children. The golf course provides a picturesque setting for leisurely walks and is well-appreciated by golf enthusiasts. Beds at the hotel consistently receive high marks for comfort, contributing to the overall restful experience.
In summary, The Gibraltar Bowral excels in providing a luxurious and relaxing environment with modern amenities, beautiful views and a prime location. While there are areas for improvement, especially in terms of housekeeping consistency and dining options, the hotel remains a top choice for travelers seeking comfort, convenience and tranquility.
