Nestled amidst picturesque grounds, the hotel boasts stunning views, lovely gardens and a tranquil atmosphere, making it an ideal spot for relaxation or romantic getaways. Proximity to scenic canal-side walks, a lovely ancient church and Wycliffe College adds to the hotel’s charm and appeal for those exploring the Cotswolds or attending nearby events.
Guests consistently highlight the excellent breakfast with good selection, tasty dishes and options catering to special dietary needs like gluten-free and vegetarian. Although there are some concerns about food temperature and limited selection at times, many found the breakfast offerings to be satisfying.
The dinner experience is marked by excellent food quality with standout dishes like the pork belly special garnering high praise. The restaurant offers a nice ambiance, but improvements in menu variety, service speed and consistency of food quality are suggested.
The rooms at the hotel receive positive feedback for their beauty, comfort and views, particularly those overlooking the gardens and canal. Many rooms are described as clean, spacious and well-equipped, providing a cozy and characterful stay. However, minor issues like room size, ventilation, noise and occasional maintenance needs are noted.
