Summary of reviews
Summarized by AI
Quinta Das Quintas & Spa offers an experience rooted in its serene and picturesque setting, ideally positioned by the Douro River. The estate's natural beauty and tranquility, coupled with meticulously maintained gardens and exceptional river views, make it a cherished retreat for guests seeking relaxation and an intimate connection with nature. The hospitality stands out with commendable amenities and excellent breakfast offerings that include fresh, local and homemade products, contributing to overall guest satisfaction.
The dining experience is mixed with some guests praising the fantastic three-course menu and delightful homemade flavors, while others find the dinner options basic and pricey. The requirement for advance reservations for dinner is noted, but those who plan ahead often find their meals enjoyable.
Accommodation reviews vary with some guests delighted by spacious and modern cabins featuring beautiful views and modern amenities. However, there are consistent critiques regarding dark, damp and humid rooms, cleanliness issues, outdated features and uncomfortable beds. Improvements in these areas could significantly enhance the overall guest experience.
Cleanliness receives mixed feedback with well-maintained common spaces and some rooms praised for their tidiness, while other areas fall short, showing signs of insufficient maintenance and cleaning. The spa and pool facilities receive largely positive reviews, particularly for their relaxing ambiance, cleanliness and top-notch massages. Some logistical inconveniences and maintenance issues were noted, but these did not overshadow the overall enjoyment of the wellness facilities.
The staff is consistently highlighted for their exceptional kindness, attentiveness and professionalism. Guests specifically noted individuals like Ms. Sandra and Soraia for their outstanding service, contributing greatly to the welcoming atmosphere of the estate.
Wi-Fi connectivity issues in remote units and certain areas of the estate are mentioned, although this does not significantly detract from the overall tranquil experience. The pools, both outdoor and indoor, add to the appeal with the saltwater pool's location offering stunning views of the Douro River and providing a relaxing atmosphere despite occasional maintenance concerns.
Overall, Quinta Das Quintas & Spa is praised for its beautiful setting, excellent service and a relaxing environment, although there is room for improvement in certain accommodations and dining aspects to ensure a consistently high-quality guest experience.
