The Wingate by Wyndham Bronx Haven Park offers a largely positive experience for its guests, highlighted by its strategic and convenient location. Situated just a minute from the nearest subway station, it provides quick access to multiple subway lines, facilitating easy travel to Manhattan and popular New York City destinations like Times Square and Yankee Stadium. Despite being in an industrial neighborhood, the internal comfort, cleanliness and proximity to a large supermarket and La Guardia Airport make it a practical choice for travelers.
Guests appreciate the inclusion of a complimentary breakfast, even though the variety and freshness of options could be improved. The on-site restaurant, Rosa's at the Park, receives high marks for its tasty and high-quality food, vibrant bar scene and enjoyable themed nights like Taco night and brunch. Although some diners felt the service charges were high and the noise levels during DJ nights disruptive, the overall dining experience is favorable.
Rooms at the hotel are consistently described as clean, modern and comfortable, utilizing their compact spaces effectively. Equipped with essentials like large TVs and comfortable beds, they offer a quiet retreat from the city's hustle and bustle. Some minor issues such as the absence of microwaves and the small size of bathrooms were noted, but these are outweighed by the overall comfort and practicality.
Cleanliness is a standout feature with guests frequently praising the immaculate and well-maintained rooms and common areas. The hotel's staff also receives high commendations for their friendliness, helpfulness and attentiveness, significantly enhancing the guest experience. Personalized touches from staff members like local food recommendations contribute to a welcoming atmosphere.
Free WiFi is another highlight with guests lauding its speed and reliability. The gym, though small, is well-equipped and appreciated for providing a cozy workout environment, while parking receives mixed reviews due to its cost, although it is secure and conveniently accessible.
The exceptionally comfortable beds are frequently mentioned as a major factor in guests' satisfaction, ensuring restful and refreshing sleep. Business travelers find the hotel well-suited to their needs, offering practical amenities such as USB connections and work desks, complemented by a well-equipped business center.
In summary, the Wingate by Wyndham Bronx Haven Park excels in providing a clean, comfortable and strategically located stay with a friendly staff and convenient amenities, making it a solid choice for both leisure and business travelers visiting New York City.
