The Alfriston is a charming and traditional hotel located in a stunning area that guests loved. The hotel is well-situated with easy parking and is a great base for exploring the surrounding area. Guests enjoyed the beautiful grounds, which included lovely gardens and a pleasant pool area. The hotel's location on the riverbank with amazing views of the South Downs was a highlight of guests' stay. The breakfast consistently receives high marks with many guests complimenting the attentiveness of the staff. The dinner menu was well above standard with some minor exceptions. While some rooms require refurbishment, others were brilliant and the hotel may suit those who appreciate quirky antique furniture. The cleanliness of the hotel varies greatly, but the staff consistently receives high praise for their exceptional service. The outdoor pool is a highlight of the hotel and the convenient and easy parking facilities are a plus. The beds are warm and cozy and many guests found them to be excellent and very comfortable. While some guests found the hotel disappointing as the facilities did not match the 4-star rating they paid for, others found the service exceptional and deserving of high praise. The hotel is a great choice for pet owners looking for a comfortable and accommodating stay.
