The Farm:
- The island farm supplies almost all meat, dairy, poultry, fresh-produce to the restaurant for true farm-to-table dining
- Fish is caught locally by our team
- This reduces supply chain carbon footprint/ensures quality/guarantees no use of harmful pesticide in the production of food and guests can see for themselves that their food is free-range and raised in humane conditions
- The farm also plays an import role in waste management: left over food given to the pigs, tree trimmings (especially non-native palm trees) are mulched and used for animal feed
- Farm is a source of natural and nutritious fertilizer for crops and gardens.
- Excess produce is sold on Mahe in a farm shop, giving local consumers access to high-quality non-imported meat.

The Forest:
- Non-native coconut plantation has been carefully and systematically removed and replaced with native and endemic vegetation
- The introduction of critically endangered endemic bird species (Seychelles Magpie Robin, Seychelles Paradise Flycatcher, Seychelles Warbler) were introduced to the island. The success of these introduced populations has downgraded these species from "critically endangered" to "endangered".

Eradication of Pests:
- Great expense and planning has gone into removing non-native predators (rats, cats and Myna birds) from the island. Denis Island is officially rat-free. The removal of these predators has allowed bird populations to thrive. Huge increases in population numbers for sea and land birds have been recorded since these pests were eradicated.

Power:
- Denis Island is home to one of the largest solar power projects in Seychelles, which largely (together with generators) supplies power to the entire island

Marine Protected Area:
- The waters surrounding Denis Island have recently been declared a marine protected zone. We are working closely with environmental organisations to manage this area.
- Denis island is an important nesting ground for endangered hawksbill and green turtles. Turtles nest all year round at Denis Island.
- Denis Island is one of the best destinations in the world for catching bill fish - all bill fish are tagged and released.

Greywater:
- Water from the laundry is sprayed over the dust roads, to keep dust down (so water does not pollute any other water sources, and less cleaning = less water consumption)

Workshop:
- Much of the furniture and flooring in the cottages and main building is made from drift wood or timber grown on the island (non-native trees that have been removed from the forest).

Green Islands Foundation:
- This NGO was initially set up by the island's owners to manage conservation projects on Denis Island alone (eg. Turtle monitoring and the translocation of endangered birds).
- The organization has since grown and now manages projects on multiple other islands.

Denis Island has also a signatory of the UNESCO Sustainable Travel Pledge.

Summary of reviews
Bliss Boutique Hotel Seychelles presents a captivating blend of natural beauty, serene ambiance and exceptional service, making it a preferred destination for guests seeking relaxation or adventure. The hotel's location is truly remarkable, nestled by the Indian Ocean with direct beach access, offering guests the chance to unwind on pristine shores while enjoying breathtaking ocean vistas. The setting is both romantic and tranquil, enhancing the appeal for those looking to relax and soak in the stunning surroundings.

Guests consistently highlight the beautiful and comfortable rooms, many of which offer direct sea views. The decor, reflecting an elegant maritime style with natural materials, receives high praise for creating a unique and authentic atmosphere. Family rooms and duplexes cater well to larger groups, noted for their generous size and thoughtful decoration. While minor issues with musty smells or aged facilities occasionally arise, these are typically exceptions rather than the norm.

The culinary experience at
Bliss Boutique Hotel Seychelles is a delight, starting with a delightful breakfast featuring a wide variety of sweet and savory options, all enjoyed with stunning sea views. The breakfast buffet is particularly well-received for its quality and selection. Dinner continues the trend with excellent local cuisine, themed buffets and a generally high standard of food. The Creole buffet is a standout, despite some concerns about pricing and variety.

The hotel's private beach and excellent snorkeling spots are major highlights, offering guests intimate and secluded experiences alongside clear waters and vibrant marine life, including potential turtle sightings. The beachfront ambiance is enhanced by the barefoot restaurant's sea views and themed buffets, creating memorable dining moments.

Another notable feature is the spa, set in a picturesque waterfront location. The ambiance, combined with good to great massages, contributes significantly to the overall positive experience with the spa treatments being widely enjoyed by guests.

The hotel's pool, surrounded by lush greenery, provides a tranquil oasis with comfortable loungers and breathtaking views. While the significant depth of the pool may not be ideal for children, it remains a charming and serene spot for relaxation.

Staff at
Bliss Boutique Hotel Seychelles are frequently commended for their friendliness, helpfulness and exceptional service. From reception to the restaurants, the team ensures a warm and welcoming atmosphere, contributing to the delightful experience many guests report.

However, the hotel does face criticism for its Wi-Fi service, which is nearly non-existent in the rooms and remains unstable even in communal areas. Cleanliness is another area where improvements could be made with some guests encountering issues like dust, hair and mildew. Additionally, the steep location and layout of the property may pose challenges for families with young children and older guests.

Despite these drawbacks, the combination of beautiful rooms, excellent service, stunning location and great amenities ensures an overall positive experience for visitors to
Bliss Boutique Hotel Seychelles, making it a charming and idyllic retreat for beach lovers and relaxation seekers alike.

Guests consistently praise the stunning vistas, especially from the balconies and infinity pool, which offer a luxurious and peaceful retreat. The hotel's location, while elevated and somewhat remote, provides a tranquil escape and easy access to northern Mahe's attractions, including Beau Vallon and Victoria. The staff’s dedication to guest satisfaction, including the proactive support from management, significantly enhances the overall experience.

The hotel's clean and stylish pools, particularly the infinity pool with panoramic sea views, are major attractions. While the pool area is well-maintained and inviting, the slightly cold water is a minor inconvenience. The hotel also features a small but well-equipped gym, though some guests mention a persistent mold smell.

WiFi coverage at the hotel is generally reliable with good connections, especially in common areas, though there are occasional reports of slow speeds in the evenings. Parking is accessible and appreciated by guests, though larger vehicles may require careful maneuvering and the scenic views from the parking area add to the charm.

The comfortable beds, praised for their quality and support, contribute to a restful sleep, despite a few comments about firmness. The hotel’s outdoor and rooftop pools, described as magnificent and relaxing, further enhance the guest experience with their stunning views and serene settings.

Overall, the
AQUA Boutique Hotel- Secluded Ocean View Suites & Infinity Pool is highly recommended for its luxurious and peaceful environment, exceptional staff, modern amenities and breathtaking views.
