YHA Manchester stands out for being a modern and clean establishment with relaxed vibes that guests with disabilities find accessible and welcoming. The building's design includes an elevator and ramps to ensure ease of movement and its convenient location offers easy access to public transportation, making it an excellent base for exploring the city. The shared spaces are not only inviting but also modern, providing a pleasant ambiance for all guests.
Despite some complaints about the bathrooms being cramped, the rooms and bathrooms are accessible for those with mobility challenges. While there is a note on the occasional issue with the lift, guests generally feel safe and secure within the hostel. Additionally, the hostel is friendly and open 24/7, adding to the overall sense of accessibility.
The common area’s inviting modern design and the engaging bar area add to the appeal, making it a great place for socializing. While the nearest shop requires a bit of a walk and parking is free but requires some navigation, the hostel’s proximity to the city center is a significant plus, offering guests ready access to everything they need.

Castlefield Hotel is a great choice for those looking for a convenient and central location in Manchester with easy access to shops, bars, restaurants, theaters and the city center. Guests have varying opinions on breakfast, but most find it adequate and good value for money. The hotel offers comfortable and clean rooms with some minor flaws to be aware of and generally well-presented and attractive communal areas. The staff receive high marks for their helpful and friendly nature with excellent customer service. The fitness and leisure facilities available at the hotel and the neighboring Y club are outstanding and represent great value for money. The secure on-site car park is a real bonus, although some guests find it expensive. Beds are generally comfortable, though some have been reported to be less so.
