Summary of reviews
Summarized by AI
The Derby Mickleover Hotel, BW Signature Collection, generally receives high praise for its strategic location and overall guest experience. The hotel is favorably situated near major routes such as the A38, making it accessible and convenient for various attractions like St George’s Football Centre, Mickleover Golf Club and Alton Towers. Its proximity to Derby city center, along with ample parking, adds to the hotel’s appeal.
Breakfast at the hotel is appreciated for its extensive variety and quality, complemented by friendly and attentive service. Despite some logistical hiccups such as timing issues and limited vegetarian options, most guests find the breakfast enjoyable and worth the cost.
Dinner experiences are mixed with many guests enjoying the well-cooked and delicious meals, alongside commendable staff service. However, slow service, limited menu availability and occasional quality issues suggest room for improvement.
Rooms are spacious, clean and comfortable with family and executive rooms receiving positive remarks. However, there are consistent mentions of dated decor, maintenance issues and occasional cleanliness concerns, highlighting a need for refurbishment.
Cleanliness across the hotel varies with several areas including the reception and many rooms receiving positive feedback. Nonetheless, issues with the leisure facilities, common areas and certain rooms indicate inconsistent standards that require attention.
Staff at the hotel are consistently praised for their friendliness, efficiency and willingness to go above and beyond, significantly contributing to a welcoming atmosphere. Notable staff members often receive individual recognition for their exceptional service.
WiFi service at the hotel is generally robust and appreciated, particularly by business travelers. Although some guests reported connectivity issues, overall, the WiFi meets most visitors' needs.
The gym and pool facilities are well-regarded for their size organization and range of equipment. However, some guests noted areas needing better maintenance and cleanliness, particularly in the pool and changing rooms.
Parking is a standout feature with guests appreciating the ample, secure and free parking spaces. Despite a few comments on small parking spots, the convenience and security of the parking facilities are highly valued.
For families, the hotel offers spacious, comfortable rooms and a range of family-friendly amenities. The swimming pool is notably popular with children and the staff's helpfulness and the availability of leisure facilities make it a solid choice for family stays. Overall, despite a few areas needing improvement, the hotel provides a welcoming and enjoyable stay for families and other visitors alike.
