Summary of reviews
Summarized by AI
Malmaison Brighton has received overall positive reviews, particularly for its prime location on Brighton Marina. Visitors frequently appreciate the hotel's scenic setting with stunning views of the harbor, especially from rooms with marina views and the breakfast terrace. Guests enjoy the peaceful ambiance and convenient access to a variety of nearby restaurants, bars and shops, coupled with the advantage of free parking. The distance from Brighton's main attractions is noted, but manageable via an easy walk or bus ride.
Breakfast at the hotel stands out for its variety, taste and quality, garnering praise for specific items like kippers and fresh pastries. The dining experience, especially on the sunlit balcony, adds a delightful touch. However, some guests noted high costs, service inefficiencies and occasional quality issues, suggesting room for improvement.
Dinner experiences are largely positive with compliments on the food quality, particularly steaks and the friendly, attentive staff. The bar's cocktails also receive high marks. However, criticisms include long waits and occasional inconsistencies in food quality and service with some guests finding the menu limited and portions small.
Rooms at Malmaison Brighton are praised for their modern design, cleanliness and stunning marina views from private balconies. Guests find the beds comfortable and rooms well-equipped with amenities like Sky and Chromecast. However, some note that standard rooms can be smaller and occasionally dark due to color schemes or lighting issues. Cleaning standards are generally high, though some occasional lapses were mentioned.
The staff receives consistent acclaim for their friendly and professional service, often making guests feel welcome and well-taken care of. Special mentions highlight individual staff members who enhance the stay experience. While there are occasional mentions of disorganization and understaffing, the overall impression is one of dedicated, hospitable service.
The hotel's free WiFi is generally found to be reliable and fast, suitable for both leisure and business activities. Business travelers, in particular, benefit from the hotel's corporate ambiance, well-equipped business center and professional services.
Despite offering modern decor and clean rooms, some guests feel the hotel does not always meet four-star standards, particularly concerning room sizes and certain amenities. Nevertheless, the attractive location and convenient facilities provide a generally pleasant stay.
Accessibility is somewhat mixed with positive aspects like helpful amenities in certain rooms and accessible pathways. However, some areas, such as parking and bathroom setups for wheelchair users, require improvement.
Overall, Malmaison Brighton is a favored choice for its scenic location, comfortable rooms and hospitable service, though there are areas where enhancements could elevate the experience further.
