Summary of reviews
Summarized by AI
OYO The Rowers Hotel in Dunston Gateshead offers a positive experience to its guests, marked by its strategic location and welcoming staff. Located conveniently near the Fed brewery with easy access to Newcastle city center, the hotel is also a short drive from the Metro Centre. This ensures that guests enjoy tranquility alongside superb connectivity, making it ideal for event attendees or those on a brief stopover. The hotel's staff are celebrated for their friendliness and professionalism, often going above and beyond to accommodate guest needs, adding to the hotel's charm.
The rooms, characterized by their cozy and inviting nature, feature comfortable beds that ensure a restful night's sleep. They are noted for their cleanliness, with fresh linens and towels provided. While the decor may feel somewhat dated, the quirky design, reminiscent of a train sleeper carriage, adds unique character to the accommodations. Guests appreciate the functional amenities such as hot showers and ample ensuite bathrooms, despite occasional discrepancies between the rooms and online photos.
Although undergoing refurbishment, the hotel maintains a tidy environment, and many guests find their stay pleasant due to the attentive cleaning staff. While some areas might benefit from a deeper clean, overall, the serene location enhances the peaceful ambiance for a comfortable stay.
Despite being in a less picturesque part of Gateshead, the hotel offers a budget-friendly, 'cheap and cheerful' option for travelers. It delivers clean and comfortable accommodations, making it great value for money, which compensates for any minor drawbacks such as outdated decor or areas requiring a touch-up. Guests frequently express their willingness to return, appreciating the hotel's combination of affordability, convenience, and warmth.
